2017 was a storm year that soon won't be forgotten. Tried to capture some notable moments as the season passed. Some were shared at the time, others not. Here are my favorites in no particular order..
Though o4L was never named and spent much of it's life being refereed to as ex-04L it wins one of the most fascinating of the season in my picture collection. Many times it looked totally different than the last glance, caught it looking like a (below from left to right): Heart Shaped Fox, Hurricane Sprite with it, baby dragon, horse with a face and a mad bat.

This was the last good shot of Irma managed to capture before mad hurricane preps followed by much hurricane clean up. It sort of stole my image gathering time for the rest of the season..

Kai-Tak has all but dissipated after leaving left 54 dead and 24 missing in the central Philippines. On it's heals and a little more south in the country's second largest island, Mindanao.. Tembin has left a scar. Heavy rains caused mudslides and flash flooding. At least 53 people were swept down the Salvador, Rando Salvacion river, mostly out of the town Salvador. The death toll for Tembin is at 133 with many more missing.
The Thomas fire which has ravaged Ventura County and severely threatened Santa Barbra has been held in it's lines today, with no new land consumed. Fire lines have been constructed 60% around the fire. These lines will be put to the test on Thursday when 50mph winds are expected to return. The current burn area from this fire is 272,000. Not far from beating out the all time largest California wildfire Cedar Creek in 2003.
A ferry carrying 251 passengers floundered and fell to the sea in the Philippines. The weather conditions are stormy and the waves high with Tembin south of the area. First reports are than most have been rescued, the rescue efforts are getting into their critical hours.
